A BROKEN MORAL COMPASS

This watercolor was inspired by a time of deep thinking about the current state of our country. We are living in times where human beings are not willing or even capable of meeting in the middle on any subject matter. The story for this painting reads as follows:

“Its 8-point rose has 4 disturbing cardinal points. The North is mad at the South, or is it the other way around? The West dislikes the East, or is it the East that can’t stand the West? The only functioning part seems to be the middle, where you can see higher grounds. A place where, despite stark differences, the sun and the moon shine together in perfect harmony.

If you own a broken compass, it will not help you find moral direction. Only rational minds can. They do so by moving along the perimeter and avoiding any damaged cardinal points. It is the only way to find the path that goes straight to a glorious middle.”

Note: This painting was made not only with traditional watercolors but also hand-made shimmering watercolors. When light hits the shimmering watercolors, you will see the colors changing.
