IN AQUARIUM – Jacques Cousteau once said, “No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, no matter how spacious, can replicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin in such an environment can be considered normal.” This nobleman doesn’t know Jacques (or is it Jack?), he finds joy in pulling the strings of his intricate mechanical system, making the fish swim around the aquarium. To him, his fish appear perfectly normal.
ATLAS OF THE ANIMAL KINGDOM – He belongs to a species that, without humility, prides itself on supreme intelligence. This self-declared protector of the animal kingdom doesn’t realize that his intellect has him running in circles. His mind is so full of knowledge that he forgets the basics. His kind protects but also destroys.
WALKING HER BURDENS – This woman shoulders many burdens: relationships, friendships, household chores, child care, a hectic schedule, and cooking she hardly has time for. Yet, she doesn’t feel the need to announce them to the world. She carries them quietly, accepting that they will always be with her—even when she steps out for a walk.
FOLLOWING THE BLIND -It’s been said that “Eyes are useless when the mind is blind,” “There is nothing worse than having sight but no vision,” and “If a blind man leads another, both will fall into a pit.” If these sayings hold true, these followers face troubled minds, lost vision, and potentially bruised bodies—a tragic outcome. What they lack is the understanding that each of them has the power to shape their own destiny. By not blindly following others, they can preserve their minds, vision, and well-being.
A GRAND ENTRANCE -Have you ever made a grand entrance? I recall one memorable occasion when I did. While riding the subway in Boston, I was so absorbed in a book that I wasn’t looking where I was going. This literary obsession led to a dramatic moment when I entered my office and ended up sliding across the floor, gracefully gliding toward the feet of those rushing to help me. It was quite the spectacle. Fortunately, I was wearing pants!
HE DIDN”T BECOME HIS WOUNDS (12 x 16″ Ink, Watercolors, Acrylics) – He faced a choice: to dwell in wounds and victimhood or to forge new neural pathways with joyful experiences. He chose the latter. Now, his limbic system naturally guides him through these new, positive pathways whenever he encounters his past, gradually weakening the old ones.
STUCK IN A BOX -This noble man, a free thinker, finds himself confined within a charmingly small box. Despite this limitation, he remains undeterred and continues to excel at what he does best. Equipped with the right knowledge and tools, he begins carving his way out, eagerly anticipating the moment he can once again think beyond the box. Are you feeling trapped inside a box?
GUARDIANS OF INNOCENCE (Acrylics, 18″x24″) – They are the stalwart protectors of children’s innocence. When this purity is threatened or harmed, the guardians descend to defend it. Their wrath is fierce and unwavering against those who would do harm. As the stewards of humanity’s most cherished treasure, they stand resolute and vigilant.
HE MISSED HIS CLOSET(Acrylics, 18″x24″) – He had two closets: the old one with his everyday clothes and shoes, evoking nostalgia for simpler times. The new closet, however, was filled with white gloves and feathered shoes meant for walking on eggshells. Navigating the new world required both, but he felt drained by the pretense, and so did those around him. He hoped for a change, wondering if he would ever fit back into his old, more genuine attire.
HE DENIZEN ALCES URBANITE -This creature is a Mus, a twig-eater. Unlike its predecessor, a solitary mammal once capable of running 35 miles per hour and swimming 10 miles, this new breed has adapted to city life. While its predecessor relied on poor eyesight and a strong sense of smell, this urban dweller has retained its keen sense of smell and developed sharp eyesight—essential for navigating bustling cities.
Rumor has it that this species is gradually infiltrating urban areas to conduct surveillance on human behavior. The goal is to provide the animal kingdom with insights to enhance their defenses against humans. It is also believed that this species is perfecting its camouflage to blend seamlessly with its urban environment. One day, it might become nearly invisible. And if you happen to get too close, you could fall victim to its ultimate plan.
