BORN TO DRAW AND SCULPT THE WORLD AROUND ME
As a fantasy artist, illustrator, and sculptor, I craft intricate themes using paper, clay, and wood, further brought to life with detailed designs and layers of paint. My work often employs mediums such as watercolor, graphite, ink, and acrylics, allowing me to explore a wide range of textures and effects. My art is deeply intertwined with storytelling, where each narrative—steeped in moral lessons—inspires my creative journey. I once heard someone say that we get old because we stop playing, and through my work, I aim to connect with the inner child in all of us, evoking a sense of wonder and playfulness. I want people to exercise their imagination, to use that muscle, and rediscover the joy of creativity.
My work is fueled by a unique interpretation of tales, myths, legends, culture, traditions, fashion, and everyday life. These stories spark my imagination, allowing me to translate my visions into illustrations or paintings. When moving into 3D, these images guide every cut I make in wood or other chosen mediums. My dedication to detail elevates my creations, particularly in woodwork, where I employ techniques like chip carving, marquetry, and inlay, often incorporating non-wood materials. I draw inspiration from historical fashion to create patterns that make my 3D pieces tactile, layered, and vibrant. My ultimate goal is for my art to evoke joy, amusement, or another positive emotion from the viewer, achieved by introducing elements that delight the senses or offer a twist on reality.
I strive to celebrate the ‘beauty in detail’ through my art. Beauty is a constant source of inspiration, yet I believe it’s becoming a lost element in today’s society, impacting our language, music, and manners. For over 2000 years, beauty was central to our civilization, serving as a universal need to bring order and meaning to life’s chaos. I believe that the essence of beauty and significance lies in the effort and love infused into every creation, down to the smallest detail.
